Meet Sugar Q: A Resilient Kitty with Lots of Love to Give!

Sugar Q’s journey hasn’t been an easy one, but he’s a true fighter. Before coming to us, he endured a failed hip surgery, which caused misalignment in his muscles and joints, leading to a displaced kneecap. The only hope for his leg was a corrective surgery or else amputation would’ve been his only option. Fortunately, we were able to give him a chance at a normal, four-legged life with a special surgery in April.

While recovery hasn’t been quick—he had to endure many months of cage rest—Sugar Q’s sweet and affectionate nature never wavered. He’s a big boy with a loud voice (he’s got a bit of a hearing impairment, so when he “talks” to you, he’s definitely expressing himself!), and all he wants is to be loved, petted, and adored.

Now that he’s out of the cage and building muscle in his leg, he’s learning to play again. String toys are his new obsession, and you’ll find him chasing them with all his might! Though he may be large, Sugar Q is gentle and will happily let you pick him up for a snuggle.

Sugar Q does prefer to be the center of attention, so he’d do best as the only kitty in your home. He deserves a family who will give him the love and care he’s always dreamed of.
